On Tuesday 28 March, Cracking Good Food dropped by The Pankhurst Centre to cook with a group of women as part of our community-based activities. Cooking leader Juliet took the group through much chopping of vegetables and crushing of garlic as we put together the ingredients for a colourful veggie stirfry.
Nicola and me, as coordinator, were helping out, and together with the group of ladies really enjoyed making two dishes: the first, a basic tasty recipe with peppers, mushrooms, onions and courgettes piled onto egg noodles; the second, a stirfry with the addition of protein-rich cashew nuts, coriander and a peanut tamari and lime sauce.
There was loads left over so we made up a couple of doggie bags which got taken home for tea. We had a great few hours - thanks to Trish and everyone at the centre for making us so welcome.
